Daybook #5

Outside my window...nighttime. I am a little late in posting this.

I am thinking...about the week ahead and how to get through the next couple days with David gone all day at work and school.

I am thankful for...flowers.

From the learning rooms...yesterday ended the Backyard Bird Count we participated in over the weekend and today the kids went on the bird trail near our home with my husband. Tomorrow and the rest of the week will be reading and counting and writing, maybe. And music. Music is a daily thing around here. :)

From the kitchen...homemade sloppy joes with gluten-free cornbread and steamed broccoli, garam marsala lentil soup, spaghetti, black bean and mango burritos are some of our dinners. Yogurt will be made tomorrow morning, along with bread. And the rest will be a surprise!

I am wearing...a nightgown. Because it's night.

I am creating...well, I'm contemplating Isabel's Easter dress. And creating a sewing space for me. And going through my massive stack of magazines to create more housing and clutter-free space for us.

I am going...to try to get together with a friend this week!

I am reading...magazines, trying to determine whether they're save-worthy.

I am hoping...the next two days go by quickly. I hate it when David is away for so long, even though I do have the privilege of having him home at night.

I am hearing...the dehumidifier running. Love the warmer weather, not crazy about the humidity that comes with it.

Around the house...things are tidied up to begin our week tomorrow! I love having a tidy home at night.

One of my favorite things...yellow. I love yellow. I don't have enough yellow.

A few plans for the rest of the week: oh I don't know...I'm too tired for plans. Let's see. I teach this week, but one of my students cancelled so my night tomorrow won't be as hairy as it usually is. Thursday we're hopefully getting together with a friend and her little boys. Friday will be mopping because that's what I do on Fridays. I have the most exciting Fridays ever. I need to gather more things for the community consignment sale next month. That's exciting!

Here is picture for thought I am sharing...

I couldn't find a decent one. Isn't that sad? Maybe that will be one of my goals this week, to take some decent pictures!

I've also been slacking in the pictures department. But my house could definitely use some tidying, that's for sure!

Yeah, I'm not so good at keeping up with the tidying, but the night before long days like today and tomorrow I try to do what I can to make the next day as easy and cheerful as possible.
