It's August!

After an unexpected break, we return to

the Daybook.

Daybook #10

Outside my window...it is rainy and thundery, though neither has actually happened yet. So I guess I should say gray and cloudy.

I am thinking...about what I want most for our family in the future and how to best obtain that.

I am thankful for...a good report from the dentist last week!

From the learning rooms...phonics, I've not been very good with teaching them lately, and reading BOB books. We'll probably start winding up some of the summer art activities I've been wanting to try, like homemade chalk and sun prints and things. If it ever gets sunny again.

From the kitchen...stir fry with bok choy! Never had it before it came in our co-op bag this week. Bean soup might also make an appearance on the list, as well as the usual yogurt and breads and things.

I am wearing...a Sorbetto top made out of a Prince Charming print. The pleat was annoying me so I un-pleated at the hem. Ankle-grazing knit tiered skirt in a color that would probably best be described as putty. Cascading navy cardigan. Hair half up-half down in messy bun. Bare feet.

I am creating...a quilt. Shoulder rests (that really ought to be finished by now). A fall dress for my daughter. Maybe some more of these Sorbetto tops because I've been so inspired by what I've seen around the online sewing world.

I am going...to meet with some of my fellow violin teachers, the library, my exercise class.

I am reading...Swamplandia! (the ! is not an indication of excitement but part of the title. and someone i know read this but i can't remember who)

I am hoping...I nail down what it is exactly I want to do in our homeschool and then how to execute that.

I am hearing...my children coloring, thunder rumbling.

Around the house....laundry needs to be put away, surfaces need to be dusted, and bathrooms need to be clean. We were given a nice dresser for Isabel and I'm looking forward to painting it and moving it into her room and giving her current dresser away to a friend who has the rest of the bedroom set to match.

One of my favorite things...the co-op we joined! For an annual fee of $25 and weekly cost of $24, we get a huge bag of organic and locally grown produce. It's been wonderful. And delicious.

A few plans for the rest of the week: updating the baby blog, entering a bunch of stuff to the huge seasonal children's consignment sale at the fairgrounds this week. And attending the sale! I usually find wonderful wardrobe staples for my children for very cheap at this sale and I'm looking forward to it.

Here is picture for thought I am sharing: not really a thought. just sweetness.
